JUDGMENT OF PARIS--1976

Placed in the Top 10 Wines, Voted “Most French in Style” --WHITE WINES, CHARDONNAY

The Paris Wine Tasting of 1976 (or the “Judgment of Paris”) was a wine competition organized in Paris on May 24, 1976 by British Wine merchant Steven Spurrier. French judges did blind tastings of top-quality chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon wines from France and from California. California wine rated best in each category, causing surprise and upset in France as it was generally regarded as being the foremost producer of the world’s best wines. Chateau Montelana took first place for the Chardonnay wines, and Veedercrest placed in the Top 10 wines.
